Ramsar martyrs cultural museum complex was inaugurated in the spring of 2000 with the purpose of study and preservation of its historical and cultural objects and values. Because of its building’s history and special attractions, in 1999, the complex was registered (registration No: 2323) as one of Iran’s great monuments. The construction of the main building was completed in 1938. The area for the complex is about 60,000 square meters. The botanical garden of Ramsar martyrs cultural museum complex is unique in West Asia and also famous for its rare species of plants. Worthy of mention is that “Psilotum Nudum” is the garden’s very special plant, one of the first plants of the planet earth, the origin of which can be traced back to 400,000,000 years ago. It grows in unusual conditions and this place is second in Asia and only in the west Asia that is ideal for the growth of this species of plant. Since 2016, Ramsar martyrs cultural museum complex has been expanded to include the ivory museum.
