خزانه ها / Treasury of Time (Clocks & Watches)

The Treasury of Time (Museum of Clocks & Watches) is a collection of desktop clocks, wall clocks and standing clocks as well as wrist and pocket watches, each of which displays utmost beauty in the art and industry of watchmaking. In this treasury, there are bronze desktop clocks plated through Ormolu (mercury and gold plating) technique with legs (bases) made of high quality stones, most of which belong to the 18th and 19th centuries and were made in France. The designs of these table clocks are mostly inspired by the statues and myths of ancient Greece. This set of clocks present a combination of different arts such as sculpture, enameling, mosaic, etc.

Another collection that can be seen in this treasury is a collection of wrist watches and pocket watches, some of which belong to historical and political figures. Each of them is a custom-made watch from a famous Swiss factory or brand and is decorated with jewelry such as diamonds and pearls. Most of them are made of gold and Iranian arts such as enameling, engraving, and glaze painting can be seen on pocket watches. Though some of these pocket watches are so simple and plain, they express a special fascinating beauty. The collection of watches is periodically displayed in the Treasury of Time, and thus you can visit the museum at different occasions to be able to see them.
