The director of the Department of the Cultural Property of Museums Headquarters said: We and our experts visited the Car Museum. The classic cars had been repaired very well.
The industry, trade and agriculture journalist of the YJC’s economic group reported that preserving classic cars is very valuable and everywhere in the world, interesting and special automobiles are kept in museums and collections, need special care, and are among the valuable works of a country. Also, in Iran, we have a lot of such cars and some of them are in the hands of Mostasafan Foundation.
Car experts believe that repairs to these cars have led to their identity loss and decrease in their value as Mostazafan Foundation has changed the colors of the cars while repairing as if, generally, these cars are totally new.
We asked the director of the department of the Cultural Property of Museums Headquarters about this issue.
In a conversation with YJC’s journalist about the changes in the appearance of classic cars after repair, Mohammad Reza Zahedi, the director of the Department of the Cultural Property of Museums Headquarters said: We and our experts visited the Car Museum. The cars had been repaired very well and I deny that the classic cars have undergone egregious changes while being repaired.
He added: The cars have been repaired in several body shops, car polishing workshops and cleaning workshops inside and outside the Institution. Of course, the museum’s authorities have documented the repairs from A to Z. This indicates that repair experts have not done anything out of the initial car plan.
Zahedi said: of course, one or two of the carts needed improvements in details such as indicators which we minuted them and decided to improve them. However, generally, the cars had been repaired standardly. Even, they had covered the cars with car covers and installed the features of the cars on the covers.
